Nikon D90 Tripod Thread Plate Replacement

  • Step 1 Bottom Casing

    • Turn the camera so the bottom casing is facing up.

  • Step 2 Removing Screws from the Bottom Casing

    • Next, use a PH00 screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom casing.

      • Remove the four 5.3 mm Phillips screws.

      • Remove the three other 6.3 mm Phillips screws.

    • Be careful not to strip the screws.

  • Step 3 Removing the Bottom Case

    • Next, use a plastic opening tool and carefully pop off the bottom case.

    • Then, lift and remove the bottom case.

  • Step 4 Removing Screws

    • Next, remove the five 5.3 mm Phillips screws.

  • Step 5 Taking Out the Plate

    • Now use a plastic opening tool and carefully pop off the metal tripod thread plate.

    • Be careful to not pull on any wires under the thread plate.

  • Step 6 Removing the Plate from the Camera

    • Carefully wiggle the yellow metal tab to remove the plate.

    • Be careful not to pull hard and damage any other pieces.
